On 11 January 2016, AMC started using the Electronic Fertility Record (EFR). The EFR is a software system that provides fertility clinics and IVF centers full insight into the patient record throughout the stages of the treatment process, while also helping them work paper-free.
The EFR supports the complete activity and “relieves” doctors of many tasks so they can dedicate more time to direct patient care. The foundation of the EFR is a dashboard providing a clear overview. This dashboard shows all the relevant patient information, including history, all visible at a glance. The patient status is displayed on a main line and can be clicked on for details. Registrations are easy to make and save from the dashboard.
In addition to optimal registration support, the record also includes a reporting and extensive correspondence module. The EFR enables data exchange among transport clinics and IVF centers working together. Because the EFR complies with the HL7 standards, patient information can easily be exchanged with the central hospital information system.
The first EFR environment was commissioned in December 2011 at Jeroen Bosch Hospital. By now, no less than 23 clinics are working with the EFR – and this number is still growing.
